Hi, I’m Shawn Petite. I’m a mixed media artist, teacher, storyteller, and encourager who has been creating and teaching for over 30 years.
I’ve explored many different mediums throughout my creative journey, but when I discovered mixed media, I knew I had found my art soulmate. I fell in love with the freedom of layering paint, paper, texture, marks, and all the beautifully imperfect pieces together to tell a story.
Over the years, I’ve had the joy of creating soulful, encouraging mixed media workshops, designing my own line of stencils, and building a beautiful community of creatives through my Mixed Media Insider membership.
But at the heart of everything I do is a desire to encourage you.
I know how easy it is to second-guess yourself, worry about doing it “right,” or feel uncertain about where to begin. My hope is to give you the tools, inspiration, and loving encouragement you need to quiet that uncertainty, trust yourself, and grow more confident in your own creative voice.
I want you to feel welcomed, encouraged, inspired, and safe enough to experiment, make mistakes, get messy, and discover what’s waiting inside you.
I truly believe creativity has purpose—and that sometimes we just need someone to walk beside us and remind us that what we have to express matters.
